Patients who qualify for house calls telemedicine do not
need to be bed bound. You just have to be home limited-- if you no longer drive, use an assistive device such as a walker, wheelchair, or scooter, have decreased mobility, vision or hearing deficit ,use oxygen or have cognitive impairment, dementia and do not leave home without a caregiver, you are considered home bound . You will need internet connection, a tablet or, phone, or computer.
Telemedicine/Telehealth
1. Prevents unnecessary hospitalizations and ER visits.
2. Provide post-hospitalization follow-up monitoring.
3. Allows for monitoring and management of the health of home bound, disabled individuals and seniors and elderly with decreased mobility,and who find it taxing /difficult to leave their homes, and those who lives alone and in rural remote areas without motor transportation and with decreased sight and hearing.
4. Allows for close management of chronic diseases such as
hypertension, diabetes, COPD, kidney disease, stroke, heart disease and reduce and prevent flare-up's, deterioration, and exacerbations.
5. Allows the patient who requires more care to be seen as often as needed and remotely monitored for acute status and condition changes
6. Prevents the patient with taxing effort from having to leave home and go frequently to other clinics for labs, radiology, etc., when mobile labs, therapy, home health nurses come to their home.
7. Seniors and elderly individuals at risk of hospitalization and nursing home admission are covered by medicaid, and medicare may have their healthcare managed appropriately at home until /or if hospitalization is imminent.
8. Allows individuals in rural/remote areas with transportation issues to have the opportunity to be treated by a primary provider for chronic issues at home .
9. Allows adult / senior/ elderly individuals who have no primary provider and have not had care by a provider in some time to be treated by our services.
10. Decreases the increased vulnerability of social isolation that occurs with fraility.
11. Telemedicine home visits help decrease the risk of elder abuse and exploitation.
12. The Telemedicine home visits could help to reduce increasing rates of suicide among those age 65 years old and older and those living alone .
